Global Student Psychology Committee

Mental Health Care

Overview

In September 2020, a group of psychologists and psychology students discussed the importance of bringing students together from different regions across the globe to collectively address concerns facing the field of psychology. In the months that followed, and with support from global colleagues, psychology students from around the world began uniting through this common goal. In December 2020, the first GSPC meeting took place, during which time psychology students from a number of different countries came together to make connections, engage in discussions, and learn about diverse psychology contexts. In the time since, the Global Student Psychology Committee has established itself as its own student-led organization and has continued to expand with student representatives from numerous countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Latin America, and Oceania. Per the mission of the GSPC, the focus has been placed on the promotion of the sustainable development of psychology as a diverse science and global profession through cross-cultural collaborations, worldwide student networks, inclusivity, and the acceptance of all countries’ contributions as valuable to the field. The Global Student Psychology Committee looks forward to continuing to advance the field of psychology through continued global collaborations, and we invite you to join us in this meaningful initiative!
