Overview

GirlLEAD Talent Accelerator is a nonprofit organisation that aims to bridge the digital gender gap by providing education, training, and employment opportunities in STEM, leadership and social entrepreneurship for women and girls in underserved communities across Africa. For more than four years, GirlLEAD has equipped over 3,500 women and girls with software engineering, data, UI/UX design and business allied skills through on-site bootcamps and virtual training programs, thus enabling women and girls to transition into STEM careers while empowering them in their unique capacity to become changemakers to positively impact their communities. By replacing social and cultural barriers to STEM with access to technology, role models, and digital skills, GirlLEAD empowers girls and young women to reach their full potential. Goals and Objectives include 1. Intensive training in technology subjects, industry related courses and social entrepreneurship through boot-camps, meetups and internships. 2. Providing coaching and mentoring for girls in technology, leadership and entrepreneurial fields. 3. Providing an enabling platform for participants to gain hands-on experience using newly acquired skills through internship placements. 4. Developing girls to be change-makers, innovators and problem-solvers. 5. Advancing gender equity through activities that promote economic opportunities for girls/women. Join us in making the future brighter.
