GM Automotive S.R.L is a historic Italian company founded in 1927, located in the province of Torino (Italy), manufacturing starter motor couplings. In the 1970s and 1980s, the growth of GM Automotive led to the creation of two subsidiaries, GHIBAUDI France and GHIBAUDI Espana intending to spread the GM brand throughout Europe. The acquisition of Elauto and Cosma in 2010 helped expand the range with products such as brushes, regulators, and glow plugs. Electromagnets or solenoids are also part of the GHIBAUDI production line. Recently, the production stages and brand name of Orme, a historic Parma-based company specializing in armatures, rotors, field coils, and stators, were acquired.
