Overview

We are the Georgia Youth Justice Coalition! From the start, our priority has been building a sustainable, supportive, and just community for youth changemaking. A better Georgia requires an organizing space that invites and incubates young Georgians to remain lifelong organizers. We build resources, run programs, and make space for the priorities of youth changemakers in the ecosystem of progressive organizing across Georgia. We build coalitions and we build community. We believe the future of our democracy and of our communities starts with public schools. Over the past two years, we’ve built serious power and relationships along the path towards justice. We defeated Don’t Say Gay in Georgia, achieved the best public school budget in our lifetimes, prevented higher education censorship, and protected our trans friends from political hate. We reached tens of thousands of voters and activated hundreds of young organizers. When politicians decided to weaponize racial gerrymandering and extremism against our school districts, we successfully defended local control and fair maps. And we’re not going anywhere. We’re organizing for the world every child deserves. This site is a peek into the future we’re here to build together: Georgians coming together across lines of race, class, gender, age, and faith. Politicians won’t save us. We save us. Thank you for being a part of this movement with us. We’ve worked tirelessly to train legislative aides and ballot cure experts, run community education operations around key advocacy priorities, build youth networks in the fight for the next decade of democracy, and bring young Georgians together. We uplift the stories of youth to build policy victories rooted in the humanity of marginalized groups. Now, we’re at the forefront of the fight to stop the dark money machinery of white supremacy trying to use our schools and as political pawns for their hate.
