Our Mission The mission of the Friends of the Community Learning Center is to raise private funds and public awareness in support of the Community Learning Center (CLC) in Cambridge. The Community Learning Center offers free classes to adults who seek to learn English, improve their literacy skills, earn high school credentials, become U.S. citizens, or prepare for college. Through its basic educational programs, the CLC helps its students improve their lives and increase their community participation. Our Vision The Friends of the Community Learning Center helps open doors to a better life for thousands of Cambridge residents. Each year, more than 1000 adult learners come to the Community Learning Center (CLC) in Cambridge to improve their English language skills, earn high school credentials, prepare for college, better integrate into the workforce, take citizenship classes, and thus follow their dreams of a better life in America. Mothers and fathers, young and old, new arrivals and long-term residents, all have one goal in common: to improve their lives through education.
