France écotours

Overview

France écotours is a mix of French and Francophile travel experts working towards a common goal: Presenting France in an authentic way, facilitating encounters between visitors and locals and promoting cultural exchange. France écotours offers themed trips and reality tours which subscribe to the principles of responsible and sustainable tourism. Our aim is to allow visitors to discover the many facets of the country by taking them off the beaten path and getting them in touch with its nature and residents, while ensuring that their visits do not have a negative effect on its natural environment and people. As such, our trips are built upon low-carbon mobility such as hiking, bike tours, train and bus rides as well as family-owned accommodations, traditional and often organic foods and local tour guides. We currently run two online marketplaces. One dedicated to green travel in France: www.france-ecotours.com and the other one dedicated to eco-friendly accomodation and sustainable activities in selected European countries: www.myecostay.eu With the latter marketplace, we want to build a community of engaged sustainablity-conscious actors: owners and clients. Each accommodation requires a per rental CO2 balance from our partner Atmosfair (a greenhouse gases compensator). That's why, in addition to the presentation of selected eco-friendly accommodation and activities, we post specific blog articles regarding sustainability innovations and news (permaculture, naturo-culture, slow food, eco-construction such as the straw-bale construct...) in three languages: German, French and English. As a responsible tour operator, we are a member of the German Association for Sustainable Tourism "forum anders reisen" and we have been awarded the "CRS for tourism" certificate by the certification office "TourCert" member of the Global Sustainability Tourism Council. Our multi-national and multi-lingual team operates in English, French and German.
