Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is the fastest growing and most hazardous waste on the planet. According to the UN, in 2021, there were 54 million tonnes of WEEE generated, with the majority discarded. 359 million TVs and PC monitors were sold annually between 2012 and 2019, with the growth rate increasing over the last three years. Supporting the UN SDGs, specifically 8, 12 and 13, and hitting the EU recycling targets of 85%, needs real disruption.
