The Foundation is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization established in 1991 to financially support St. Luke's Hospital and promote the provision of the highest quality-focused healthcare services. The Foundation Board comprises citizens who have joined to raise funds for new equipment, facility improvements, educational programs, and the Foundation's endowment. St. Luke's Hospital is a community-owned critical access hospital (CAH) in Polk County, NC. The CAH designation reduces the financial vulnerability of rural hospitals and improves access to healthcare by keeping essential services in rural communities.
