The Association for Humane Drug Policies

Non-profit Organizations

Overview

FHN is a User organisation that promotes a drug policy based on harm reduction and Human Rights. Our primary task is user participation, at political, service and system level and at individual level. We participate in a number of working groups, expert committees, user councils and projects at municipal, national and International levels. FHN also works as an outreach service with distribution of user equipment and naloxone antidote and offers assistance and follow-up to users and relatives. FHN collaborates with municipal authorities on infection prevention, injury reduction and overdose prevention and offers courses and training to the private and public sector on this. We hold lectures and contribute with drug policy articles. We actively participate in the public debate. FHN was founded in April 2006 and is led by Arild Knutsen. FHN has consultative status in the UN (ECOSOC Special Consultative Status), which means that we can provide input and advice to the UN's work in the field of drugs
