Overview

Founded on December 10th, 1933 by Aloyse Hentgen, the Luxembourg Basketball Federation ("F.L.B.B.") has the mission of managing and organizing basketball of all levels in Luxembourg. Counting on January 1st, 2020 more than 6,176 licensees, the F.L.B.B. is the second largest federation in Luxembourg. It has been affiliated since 1937 to the International Basketball Federation (“F.I.B.A.”), the world governing body for basketball. The headquarters of the F.L.B.B. is located at the "Maison des Sports Josy Barthel" alongside the Luxembourg Olympic and Sporting Committee ("C.O.S.L") as well as almost all the other sports federations of Luxembourg. Since its creation in 1933, the F.L.B.B. has contributed to the development of basketball in Luxembourg and manages its national teams. The governing body has identified the fundamental values of basketball as a collective sport and follows a clear vision to achieve the objectives of the sport, by leading a continuous and consistent strategy in the execution of all of its activities.
