Occupational Cancer is the most significant threat firefighters face. Being aggressive towards cancer prevention will give your firefighters the best chance of having a long, healthy career, and the opportunity to to enjoy their retirement. The Firefighter Cancer Consultants, LLC was established in late 2014. We have assisted Fire Departments across the world with their Firefighter Cancer Awareness, Prevention and Support initiatives. Our team members are located throughout the US and Canada. We have years of experience assisting Fire Departments create or build onto their Firefighter Cancer Initiatives. Action Plan Report: The Action Plan is a summary of where your Department currently stands on issues regarding occupational cancer. The plan offers recommendations on the steps necessary to improve areas of concern. The majority of these recommendations are at little or no cost to initiate. The report will help prioritize the steps that needs to be taken and will also list the policies that need to be created or reevaluated. The Action Plan Report is based off of Current NFPA Standards, and scientific studies. We will discuss the Action Plan Report in detail with the interested parties. Sample Policy/Procedure Binder: We will provide a large binder that consist of sample policies and procedures regarding firefighter cancer issues collected from departments throughout the country. These policies/procedures can easily be modified and customized for your own department. Fire Station Inspection: A summary of each Fire Station Inspection will be compiled into a report that would state if any improvements are recommended that would assist in reducing the risk of occupational cancer. Training: We will provide training for all department members. The trainings include Firefighter Cancer Awareness, Prevention, and Support modules. To encourage member buy-in, the trainings are personalized for each Fire Department.
