Overview

Fintek provide metal surface finishing services to the aerospace, autosports, medical device, toolmaking and precision engineering industries. Expertise covers components subtractively machined and also additively manufactured parts by 3D printing. Manging director Jonathan Dean founded the company 40 years ago to solve metal finishing problems for high value engineering, manufacturers and jewellery makers. Providing both a comprehensive subcontract service and also machine/process sales accompanied by a wealth of problem solving expertise, the company has become one of the UK’s foremost one-stop shops for superfinishing. Well-equipped inspection and quality control ensures all deburred, edge honed, smoothed, micro finished and polished components meet exacting standards. Certification includes ISO9001 and AS9100. Since 1997 Fintek have been the UK official agent for OTEC Präzisionsfinish GmbH. Their machine technology has transformed areas previously dominated by traditional vibratory and manual finishing processes. Fintek offer OTEC equipment along with a full service to help engineers find the right combination of machine, media and process time to achieve the required surface finish for their part. This is backed by ongoing consultancy, preventative maintenance and if needed the full worldwide expertise of OTEC. The company is also exclusive UK agent for the RENA Hirtisation® process to automate surface finishing of additively manufactured parts - removing AM support structures, powder cake and residues, partially melted grains, finishing deep cavities, undercuts and other design intricacies inherent in many 3D printed parts. The process can also smooth and edge hone. The RENA H-Series range can handle all common 3D printed metals and alloys.
