Overview
After a professional career spanning more than forty years, Fernando Menis's architectural production includes works of various scales and typologies as well as research projects. He has built congress centers, cultural and institutional buildings, schools, sports and leisure centers, houses and collective dwellings, squares, botanical gardens and sea fronts, but also innovative acoustic solutions and an ideal city prototype that uses only natural energy. An expert in designing concert halls and auditoriums, he is world renowned after conceiving a variable acoustic system for the CKK Jordanki Concert and Congress Hall in Poland. Some of the completed works are: The El Tanque Garden (2022), the Church and Social Center of the Holy Redeemer of Las Chumberas (2022), the CKK "Jordanki" Concert and Congress Hall in Poland (2015), the Bürchen Square in Switzerland (2015), the Insular Stadium Athletics (2007), Magma Arte & Congress in Tenerife (2007), the Pool on the river Spree in Berlin (2004) and the Headquarters of the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands in Tenerife (1999). Among the ongoing projects, the Masterplan in Boa Vista - Santa Mónica and Chave de Cabo Verde, the Pájara Concert and Congress Hall in Fuerteventura, the Rehabilitation of the Teobaldo Power Performative Arts Hall in La Orotava, the Rehabilitation of the Viera y Clavijo Cultural Park in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the long-term research projects Hatching, aimed at the study and creation of sustainable habitats in arid environments, as well as Acoustic Frames, which seeks to use and enhance the acoustic qualities of some natural materials or the creation of new materials with certain acoustic qualities.
