Overview

Fenner Nature Center is an environmental education center encompassing 134 acres of publicly accessible green space. The property includes over four miles of trails, rolling glacial eskers, towering maple groves and so much more. Inside the Visitor Center, you will find collections of live native reptiles and amphibians; a viewing area to watch songbirds, deer and wild turkeys; and opportunities to explore newly renovated hands-on exhibits, designed with YOU in mind. Fenner Nature Preschool is a nature-based preschool program for children age 33 months to 5 years located in the heart of Lansing at 1526 E. Mount Hope Avenue. We are nestled along the Sycamore Creek, adjacent to the Red Cedar River. The property boasts 53 acres of rolling fields and established riparian wetlands, creating a unique and breathtaking vista for children to explore and learn in. The program, Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, combines provocation-based curriculum with nature based discovery to foster whole child development. Fenner Nature Center and Fenner Nature Preschool are governed by the non-profit Fenner Conservancy.
