FC Spartak Varna 1918 is a club with traditions from the maritime capital of Bulgaria and was founded on August 28, 1918 under the name "Bulgarian Falcon" and hence its nickname is "the Falcons". Home of FC Spartak Varna is stadium Spartak and its colors are blue and white. In 1924, "Bulgarian Falcon" merged with "Shipka", under the name "Shipchenski Falcon". In 1931, "Shipchenski Falcon" became vice-champion. The team reached the final of the State Championship in Sofia against "AC-23". On September 18, 1932, "Shipchenski Falcon" won the King's Cup of Bulgaria after defeating "Slavia" in the final of the State Championship and became the Champion of Bulgaria. "Shipchenski Falcon" is the first team in the country to play in the championship final for 3 consecutive years. In 1945, "Shipchenski Falcon" merged with Levski and Radetski under the name Spartak. In 1969, "Spartak" merged with "Lokomotiv", under the name "ZHSK-Spartak". In 1983, "ZHSK-Spartak" was a finalist for the national cup. In 1985, football was separated from the other sports of the "ZHSK-Spartak" company and Football Club Spartak Varna was established separately on its own. After a 13-year absence, in 2022 FC Spartak Varna once again became part of Bulgaria's football elite and played in the highest football division - the Efbet League. After the relegation of the team to the Second Football League in 2023, the management of the club changed. The task the new management has before itself is to return the club to the Efbet League in 2024 which is where "the Falcons" belong. In addition, the aim for the second team of Spartak, which currently plays in the Third League, is to enter the Second League. At the club's youth academy children from 5 to18 years of age are selected and trained under a new methodology at the sports base at stadium Lokomotiv thanks to a team of professional coaches. The vision of FC Spartak Varna is to produce its own players who can bring the team back to glory days.
