Livestock animal healthcare in Africa is fundamentally broken. In a place like Nigeria, for every 100,000 livestock farmers there is less than 5 veterinary doctors to serve them and even very limited veterinary diagnostic laboratories to assist animal healthcare experts to better diagnose and treat effectively. This further affects our food system as about 40% livestock animals are lost to diseases annually.
