Overview

ECI was founded in 1995 in the UK as a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Captioning Institute (www.ncicap.org), an American non-profit foundation dedicated to promoting accessibility in the media. For 15 years ECI provided multilingual subtitling services for all media – cinema, broadcast, home entertainment, VOD – complemented by an array of other language services, such as translation, voice over, transcription and audio description. In November 2010, the company was acquired by Deluxe Digital Studios.
