Overview

The Chair of Sustainable Construction is led by Prof. Dr. Guillaume Habert and located at the Institute of Construction and Infrastructure Management (IBI), in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (D-BAUG) of ETH Zurich. The chair is gathering scientists, engineers and architects who intend to ground sustainability in all the disciplines of the built environment. The objective is to identify the relevant parameters that influence the environmental impacts of buildings at international, national and regional levels in order to implement sustainable practices throughout the development of innovative strategies adapted to each actor of the construction value chain. This involves interdisciplinary works and draws on Life Cycle Assessment, urban metabolism and material science.
