Overview

Engineers Going Global (EGG) is a student-led organization based out of the University of Virginia. Our mission is to inspire students to be proactive and contextually-aware Engineers who empower communities to attain their basic human needs in a sustainable manner. EGG is the only project incubator at the University, meaning that we work with students and UVa faculty to identify a humanitarian need or deficiency in a community and foster the creation and development of a multi-disciplinary project team to help solve these unique problems. By providing workshops lead by UVa faculty and professionals in the field, increased access to funding sources (both internal and through the University), and guidance from our experienced Project Managers, we are able to fully support our project teams through every phase of the project cycle. Working on an EGG project team gives our fellow students the opportunity to apply engineering principles learned from the classroom to real-life problems in order to find sustainable solutions for the local and international communities.
