Energy One Africa operates in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Only 9% of the Congolese population has access to electricity, leaving more than 70 million people without access. The DRC is also regularly confronted with food and nutritional crises in a context of poverty and armed conflict. Food security reports show that over 26 million people are acutely food insecure. Energy One Africa is building the energy solution that those hard-to-reach market need. This is not only accessing reliable and affordable solar power products but also energy for food security applications. Therefore, Energy One Africa’s activities range from Solar Home System (SHS) distribution through to Backyard or Community Scale Solar Powered aquaponics food production units.
