Overview

The EMPOWER Mindful Movement Program is based on research in the areas of Child Development, Neuroscience, and the science of Yoga + Mindfulness. By teaching simple skills that are developmentally appropriate for children and youth, we target specific learning outcomes such as: Executive Function, Self Regulation, and Social Emotional Learning--key skill sets that support optimal development of the whole person--body, heart, and mind. We work from a ‘ME to WE’ model, introducing skills in a playful, relationship-based learning environment. When practiced regularly, Yoga + Mindfulness skills for children and youth can increase self awareness and community connections, enabling young people to be their very best selves as they find true belonging--both within, and in community with others. We offer After School Programs, In School Programs, and Professional Development workshops for educators. About the Co-Founders: Co-Founded by Certified Children’s Yoga Teachers and Registered Yoga Teachers, Katie Keating & Alana Frogley. Between them, Katie and Alana bring over 20 years experience working with children and youth. Alana Frogley received her Bachelor of Child & Youth Care from the University of Victoria, and has been working in special education and public schools for the past decade. Katie Keating is the Founder of Studio 202 Community for Inspired Living, and received her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia. Together, Alana and Katie bring a variety of skill sets and experiences, that will make EMPOWER Mindful Movement an exciting startup company to watch in the years to come. Words to Live By: “Resilience is not built by removing obstacles from someone's path for them. It is built when you EMPOWER youth to face challenges with the tools they need.” Are you interested in having the EMPOWER Program come to your community or school?
