Overview

EME Aero is a joint venture between two leading aircraft companies, Lufthansa Technik AG (50%) and MTU Aero Engines AG (50%). This joint initiative has resulted in the project off creating one the most advanced MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) provider for the latest generation of geared turbofan engines from the PW1000G series. The state of the art facility is to be built in Southeastern Poland, in Jasionka close to the Rzeszow city. The two stakeholders of this joint venture will invest minimum 150 million euros by 2020. This is the year when the facility is scheduled to be up and running. Planned annual capacity is more than 400 shop visits by the PW1000G series of geared turbofan engines. The newly established center will have a staff of more than 800 qualified employees. Capacity will be ramped up slowly. A state-of-the-art test cell is under construction, too. Once completed, the EME Aero facility will be one of the most advanced and the most efficient engine shops worldwide, thanks to the unique flow line and efficient administration. EME Aero will have full capability for PW1100G, PW1500G and PW1900G engines, including overhaul, maintenance and some types of repair. EME Aero is to take direct advantage of the know-how and technology offered by both partners. This will ensure world class services based on decades of experience. At the same time, the EME Aero service center will meet the highest requirements in environmental protection in the aviation industry, as well as safe conditions of work.
