Overview

Our Mission is to advocate for the rights of dyslexic inmates and their families by improving literacy and self-esteem through research, testing and reading programs. Dyslexia is a learning difference that affects the part of the brain that processes language. It is neurobiological in origin and impacts an individual's ability to read, write, spell and process language. It effects both men and women around the world and research has shown while it effects approximately 20% of the general population it may impact over 50% of the incarcerated population! Our Vision is a world where the dyslexic incarcerated population and their families have the opportunity to embrace their gifts, to reduce recidivism, and to eliminate the school to prison pipeline.
