Overview

The company was established in 2004 with the objective of producing and exporting unique highland green coffee beans. The coffee supply chain is complex as beans pass hands through growers, traders, processors, exporters, roaster, retailers or wholesalers and finally the consumer. As farmers we wanted to be more involved in the supply chain than just as growers, so we later in 2018 ventured into roasting, packaging, and wholesale globally. Over 90% of coffee production takes place in developing countries like Ethiopia, small producers worldwide rely on coffee for a living. Being involved in the chain from production to wholesale by adding value at the origin helps us to contribute to a sustainable development by offering better trading conditions for marginalized producers and workers. Elixir coffee’s aim is to be a sustainable global supplier of roasted and packed coffee with the finest single origin, premium Ethiopian coffee, at a competitive price. Promising quality without compromise by processing only the very best harvested beans. With a strong customer service ethic that will support the fantastic product. Our production site is located in the southwestern part of Ethiopia, within the surrounding of Gerjede forest reserve, known for its wild semi-forest shade-grown coffee, with altitudes exceeding 2200ASC, and rainfall of 1500mm per annum. We harvest a farm size of 70 Hectares, while working closely with other farmers (out growers), and co-operatives who collectively own more than 150 Hectares. That gives us a production capacity that exceeds 120 tons per annum.
