EdCorp is the winner of the tender for Tourism and Economic Sector Investment and Development by the Theewaterskloof Municipality for the town of Grabouw. The Development Initiative is rooted in the principals of sustainability and the environment, the development will contribute significant amounts to the GDP of Grabouw as well as Theewaterskloof Municipality and the Western Cape. The area has rich potential with unsurpassed natural beauty, the Elgin Valley with its famous apple and wine farms. An already well-established globally recognized brand name, renowned for Appletiser, Grabouw Boerewors and Apples and for hosting world-class events such as the Cape Epic and xTerra mountain biking and triathlon events. Award winning Municipal leadership - with the Theewaterskloof Municipality (TWKM) winning the "Top Municipality: Service Delivery" national award. With full backing from the Theewaterskloof Municipality (TWKM) and the Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA). The TWKM has detailed their vision for the town in a document, "Vision: 2030". It outlines an inspiring picture of Economic, Community, Tourism, Innovation and Environmental initiatives. The Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA) has Grabouw earmarked for development funding as one of six towns in their Sustainable Development programme as was identified by Trevor Manual and mandated by Treasury who appointed the DBSA as the implementing agent.
