A private family, that has been investing in and developing UK real estate since 1744. Amongst the landmark projects for which we are responsible are: •Wilton Crescent, Belgrave Square, London; •The Pantechnicon, Motcombe Street, London; •Mount Stewart, County Down, Northern Ireland; •Wynyard Park, Stockton-on-Tees, Durham; and •Vane-Tempest Colliery, Seaham Harbour, Durham. We invest, discreetly, in a variety of UK real estate assets, including land-holdings, forestry, planning opportunities, accommodation & residential development, social infrastructure and storage. We also provide seed capital and secured lending solutions for property developers. Where appropriate, we work with other select family offices and high net worth professional investors to provide syndicated investment solutions for larger projects. This enables our co-investees to participate in complex, dynamic developments on a carefully selected, transaction specific basis and achieve positive risk weighted returns. Our key strengths lie in our reputation, established over more than 250 years, secured by adherence to the family’s robust governance, underwriting criteria and our long standing relationships with investors and developers across the UK. We develop a deep understanding of each investment opportunity that we consider, and have a robust underwriting process for each transaction that we undertake. The members of our investment board include financial and legal experts, and have a combined experience of over 50 years between them. Each investment that we undertake is subject to detailed scrutiny by the investment board before any investment is approved. Specific activities include: - Sourcing opportunities at below market value - Land assembly & negotiating planning permission - Pre-contracting the finished product - Providing and/or arranging development / investment finance
