Overview

The Educator's School Safety Network has a simple mission: to help keep schools safe by providing training, services, and resources to educators, administrators, and emergency responders. The Educator’s School Safety Network is a national non-profit that is unique for two important reasons: 1. The vast majority of school safety training available to most schools focuses on crisis response after violence has occurred with a particular emphasis on an active shooter event. We feel that violence prevention measures should be the centerpiece of safety planning for schools and their communities. While crisis response training is important, we feel the emphasis should be on an all-hazards approach, rather than focusing solely on the statistically unlikely event of an active shooter. A given school will face a crisis of some sort nearly every year, yet there is little attention focused on how these events can be prevented and how to respond to them. 2. Unlike most school safety organizations, we come from an educational, not law-enforcement, perspective. As a career educator with 28 years of experience as an administrator and teacher, founder Dr. Amy Klinger understands the critical need to empower, not intimidate, educators to prevent violence and appropriately respond to crisis events. The Educator's School Safety Network is one of the only education-based non-profit organizations that does violence prevention and school safety work.
