Hi! I'm Erick, husband to my beautiful wife and father to my 2 amazing kiddos. I'm also an engineer turned career coach. Being the sole provider for my family, losing my job terrified me. So much, in fact, that I devoted every ounce of energy to my career, in the hopes of ensuring my employment. Every time management gave me a task, I would take it without regard of how much I already had on my plate. Every time I was mistreated, I would just endure it in silence. Each time I trapped myself in these circumstances, and the fear of hearing the words "you're fired" kept me a slave... and it was destroying me and my family. That is, until I decided to break free! That was when I discovered the power gained from having an escape plan! The power to speak in complete honesty and be true to yourself in any work setting. The power to walk away from work and take care of family and home every time they need it. The power to see the employment contract as an equal-part and mutual agreement.
