Alternative Dispute Resolution

Overview

The Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) is the largest arbitration centre in the Middle East. DIAC was established in 1994 as the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre. A decade later, it evolved as the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC). In September 2021, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued Decree No. (34) of 2021 on the Dubai International Arbitration Centre. The Decree rendered DIAC independent from Dubai Chambers and the Dubai Government, modernised its corporate governance framework, and reinforced its position as the leading arbitration centre in Dubai. DIAC’s main office is in Dubai, UAE. One of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world and home to more than 200 nationalities. DIAC also has a world-class branch in DIFC, the leading financial centre in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. With a team of seasoned legal professionals, a growing portfolio of experienced DIAC registered arbitrators and arbitration rules that foster the proceedings’ swiftness, effectiveness, and sustainability, DIAC is on a mission to provide unmatched ADR services by embracing Excellence as a Standard, Integrity as a Compass, and Equity as a Principle.
