The Drum Circle Islamabad (DCI), an orchestration of the rhythmic heartbeat of a community, creates harmony reminiscent of blissful coexistence in every drum beat and groove. With the concept of one groove for all, it aims to touch communities through music and melody by awakening their dormant inner instrumentalist and rhythm that pre-exists in all. Keeping the circles interactive and engaging, the aspect of development, of the self and the community, through collaborative playing is at the core of the DCI. It also carries an aspect of a therapeutic experience as stress and fear are transcended when drummers unite, lifting spirits and renewing the group, whether it’s with family, friends, strangers or your own professional team. Music, in itself helps enhance overall well-being, improves cognition, regulates emotions and creates feeling of happiness and relaxation in individuals. Listening to tunes and rhythms improves mood, gets one in a more aligned state and boosts overall performance in whatever one does. Rhythms permeate the entire body and soul, and when done in a collaborative setting, it boosts positivity and a channel of profound peace and energy is created for all to grasp. Drums, djembes and all percussion instruments to play in the circle are provided by the DCI and the sessions are led by its conductor(s).
