Welcome to Dream More Project (DMP)! Founded by student volunteers from universities around the globe, DMP is a free, online academic tutoring and advising resource for students coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. We understand that navigating educational system as a student from disadvantaged background could be extremely challenging. These students often lack cultural capital, face financial strain, and experience emotional distress while muddling through their academic career. With that in mind, we make every effort to assist these students in their study. [About Us] DMP is founded by a group of student volunteeers from Harvard University, UC Berkley, National Chung Hsing University, National Tsing Hua University, and the University of Michigan. DMP envisions to make academic tutoring and advising more available and accessible to students from disadvantaged background. [Our Mission] DMP aims to specifically help students from disadvantaged background. Additional academic support resource could be costly. We believe that every student should have equal opportunity to succeed in their academic career. Therefore, we specifically target this population to address the disparities of academic resources. Our mission is to provide these services while eliminating barriers such as financial and transportation issues that may hinder access to academic resources. [Our Vision] Coming from different background, the founding members of Dream More Project each has their own stories. But they all work towards the same goal - to make this world a better place. They hope DMP allows mentees to Dream More and Be More. We believe that the pursuit of study is not the sole goal of education. Aside from coursework, we also give mentees career advice, help students to identify other available academic support resource in their community, and talk through the emotional distress while navigating the complex educational system.
