PURPOSE: The Downtown District BIA exists to position downtown Belleville as a vibrant community. It’s time to rediscover Downtown Belleville’s shops, dining, entertainment and recreation. The Waterfront Trail skirts the edge of Downtown Belleville’s beautiful, historic city centre. There is something for everyone downtown. After browsing the local stores and galleries, or after relaxing at one of Belleville’s chic spas or salons, tantalize your taste buds at any of the downtown’s gourmet cafes with a specialty coffee and a tasty sweet. Take some time to peruse the Farmers’ Market, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at Market square. Looking for wine tasting or a night of dining and entertainment? Choose from many fine restaurants and bistros. Tappas, sushi, seafood, steaks, pasta and more, there is a venue to please every palette. Afterward, catch a play or a concert at one of our theatres or find a variety of entertainment at one of the more intimate nightspots. Downtown is host to many special events throughout the year. Seasonal Festivals, Food & Tasting Events, and Art & Music Crawls, all bring the community together through fun and engaging activities.
