Shanghai Dowell Technology Co. Ltd. (Dowell), was founded in 2009 and is invested by international venture capital company IDG Capital Partners as a Sino-US joint venture, with a registered capital of 51.92 million RMB. Dowell announced its public listing in Sept. of 2014 on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Dowell’s registered address is in the Shanghai Free Zone and the company also has an R&D facility and a sales centre in Beijing. In addition to these, the company has a production base and warehousing facilities located in to Changzhou city, Jiangsu province. Dowell specializes in the battery energy storage field. The main business is the provision of EPC services for commercial and utility scale projects. The company has developed its own propriety technology in this field. The company has provided EPC services for some of the biggest projects in China. However the company also realised that there was a need for energy storage systems at a residential level and created the iPower range of bi-directional energy storage inverters and iPack storage battery pack for use in the home. These units are available for new installations or retro fitted to existing systems and can work in on grid or off grid modes. These are sold through a network of distributors.
