Overview

The Department of Energy, Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO) mission is to provide safe, compliant, and efficient characterization, certification, transportation, and disposal of defense transuranic waste. Our vision is to transition to a world class waste repository that maximizes the long-term use of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) facility consistent with the mission and the Land Withdrawal Act (LWA).
