De Paul School, Ukkunagaram is a Catholic coeducational institution established in 1994 and the school is managed by the Vincentian Fathers of South Indian Province of the Congregation of Mission (C.M.). Under Articles 29 &30 of the Constitution of India, the school enjoys a minority status. De Paul maintains the Christian atmosphere, identity and character. It is open to students of all communities irrespective of caste, creed or colour. The Vincentian Community came forward to Steel City with the idea of establishing an English medium School with ICSE syllabus,affliated by CISCE, New Delhi. The Institution convened its classes for LKG to Class 1 in ‘B’ Type Steel Plant Quarters in Sector 9 of Ukkunagaram Township as a makeshift facility and the dream journey of Congregation of Mission (C.M.), started off. The Academic year 1994 – 1995 is indeed a defining moment for all the De Paulites. The founder Principal Rev. Fr. DevassiaPudussery with his team of 10 staff and 250 students promised to strive for quality education. We at De Paul, with the motto “Towards Excellence and Relevance”, follow a rigorous academic programme combined with a plethora of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities thereby ensuring that the students passing out from our school have an edge over the others to face the challenges in the world and prove to be worthwhile global citizens.
