Overview

I'm David Chiu and I'm running for Mayor. I am proud to call myself a San Franciscan. I moved here for the reasons the world loves our city – our vibrant and diverse neighborhoods, creative and innovative spirit, and deep commitment to social justice. I've worked as a civil rights attorney and a criminal prosecutor here. I founded a small business here. I've volunteered as a neighborhood leader and chair of an affordable housing organization here. And for the past two years, I've had the honor and privilege of representing District 3 and serving as President of the Board of Supervisors. Now, I'm running for Mayor because I believe I can lead us in building a better San Francisco. Throughout my career, I’ve seen what’s possible when city government works hand-in-hand with people of every background and from every neighborhood. Whether we’re leading the fight for marriage equality, providing health care for all our residents, or cultivating the 21st century economy, we have achieved great things when we come together around our shared values. That's the kind of leadership I want to bring to City Hall. If I have the honor of being your next Mayor, I will go to work every day to find that common ground. From that foundation, together, we will build one San Francisco - a city that will continue to be a beacon to the entire world, and the pride of all who live here.
