It is the mission of the Dade Institute of Technology’s Department of Nursing to achieve excellence in nursing education and public service in an innovative, caring, and collaborative learning environment while preparing individuals to assume roles in various levels of nursing practice. DIOT is focused on contributing to the advancement of the health of the community by creating a community of diverse health care professionals to deliver quality nursing care based on the individualized needs of patients and their families across all cultures, economic levels and geographic locations. DIOT’s focus is providing the foundational information for students to not only deliver direct care to patients but to continue their education and become transformational leaders in the field of nursing.
