The Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech) is an attached agency of the Department of Agriculture created through Executive Order 366 in 2004 and is mandated to generate, extend and commercialize appropriate and problem-oriented agriculture and fishery postharvest and mechanization technologies. PHilMech was previously called the Bureau of Postharvest Research and Extension (BPRE) and the National Postharvest Institute for Research and Extension (NAPHIRE).
