Overview

Founded in 1986 as an unprecedented joint venture of the financial bulge firm Shearson Lehman American Express, CVHG's method for valuing companies has been cover-storied in the NYT, the WSJ, SUCCESS, and VENTURE MAGAZINE. CVHG is the first and only to challenge the old methods of valuation and strategic change derived merely from earnings. The CVHG methodology is based upon the Peter Drucker-endorsed method of cross-industry comparisons for strategic directions to optimize performance, value, and stock price. The former HBS classmate of Dr. Cvar and HBS Dean, Professor John Quelch, now on the CVHG board, has published with Dr. Cvar in the HARVARD BUSINESS REVIEW on the CVHG technology. Also on the board are several Forbes 400 members and private equity principals. Led by CEO Dr. Margeaux Cvar, who earned an undergraduate degree with the highest honors in mathematics and science, published in the Journal of Applied Psychology, by 14; developed her own company in her home state of Minnesota (clients included General Mills, Pillsbury, and Chrysler), obtained her MBA with top honors, modeled for Italian Vogue, received the world-renowned Ellis, Danforth, (admission to Oxford), Alworth, and Bausch & Lomb scholarships; and admitted to the Doctoral Program at the Harvard Business School - then she turned 18. Following brand management at P&G, and the full time Doctorate at the Harvard Business School, with Michael Porter and Ted Levitt, on her ground-breaking thesis: Global Strategy and Competition; Factors of Success and Failure, while being a full-time partner at SPI, advising global clients such as Becton Dickinson and Emhart. Dr. Cvar founded her current firm.
