The Center for Housing Opportunity facilitates the production, preservation, and protection of housing that is affordable and accessible for people at all income levels and all stages of life in Fairfield County, Litchfield County, and Eastern CT. CHO is home to Fairfield County's Center for Housing Opportunity (FCCHO), Litchfield County's Center for Housing Opportunity (LCCHO) and the Center for Housing Equity and Opportunity in Eastern CT (CHEO). CHO believes that equitable access to safe, affordable, and healthy housing is the foundation of a thriving community. Utilizing a collaborative, data-driven, and regional approach, the Center for Housing Opportunity strives to reduce the cost burdens which too many households - owners and renters - face in our region. The Center adopts a collective impact model that strategically aligns many organizations from multiple sectors to advance social change. The non-profit organization facilitates collaboration between over 60 other organizations and government entities across industries to promote the production and preservation of housing that is affordable, available, and accessible to all residents.
