College of San Mateo Workforce Hub

Higher Education

Overview

College of San Mateo is committed to fulfilling the objectives of California’s Strong Workforce Program initiative. According to recent government statistics, California needs one million more graduates who have completed associate degrees, certificates, and/or industry valued credentials to meet workforce demands through at least 2025. “Some college” is the new gateway into the workforce. By 2020, 65% of job openings in the US will require some postsecondary education or training, though not necessarily a four-year degree. The Career & Workforce Hub at College of San Mateo is dedicated to ensuring that all students have enriching experiences that help them build skills and focus on the careers they will have once they complete a class, certificate or degree at CSM. As such, “the Hub” is committed to offering ongoing, experiential hands-on experiences that allow students to explore career options and create and pursue a plan to achieve their goals. College of San Mateo maintains a policy of inclusiveness that recognizes, values, and reflects the diversity of the community it serves. As an academic institution, the college fosters a dynamic learning and working environment that encourages multiple perspectives and the free exchange of ideas. The college abides by the principle of equal opportunity for all without regard to gender, color, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, economic background, sexual orientation, and physical, learning, and psychological differences.
