Overview

The major goal of CRUN/URCN is to build and maintain a strong expertise and infrastructure capable of conducting clinical trials that are fully consistent with international standards. It was created in 2009 under the leadership of Halidou Tinto, the founding director of CRUN, with aim to accelerate malaria control in Africa through clinical research and training. Since then it has been able to contribute to the development of new malaria control and elimination tools such as vaccines, drugs, diagnostics and more. CRUN operates within the health district of Nanoro, which is location at 85 kilometers from Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso in West Africa. Its research platform consists of the following components: - Clinic - Pharmacy - Clinical laboratory - Research laboratory - Health and Demographic Surveillance System
