The laboratory is run by the department of Psychiatry, Kasturba Medical college, Manipal and is part of "Clinical Research Centre for Neuromodulation in Psychiatry", which is a multicentre research project in collaboration with National Institute for Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru and Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP), Ranchi. It has been set up for conducting clinical trials investigating the role of neuromodulation techniques like ECT, tDCS and TMS in treatment resistant psychiatric illnesses.
