Overview

The CRC for Microtechnology was formed in 1999 with its sunset in 2006. Griffith University and the school of microelectronics were a major partner in this CRC which had a total budget of A$64 million, A$17 million of which is core Federal government funding. Through its participants, it has access to existing top-class research facilities, a pool of talented staff, built-in international networks and both industrial and academic background IP. The main research areas were Fabrication Technology, Microdevice Packages, Safety and Health, Micro-fluidic Devices Notable activities were Athlete Monitoring with the Australian Instuite of Sport Smart sensors for agriculture with Motorola Flexable Electrodes with Cochlear Australia Renewable power generation for keyless entry with Bosch Australia
