At our platform we reduce CO2 emissions on your Cloud Storage - First of all by dividing the stored data in two: - an instant access storage for data we use often - and long-term storage for data we rarely use and can wait a few hours to get access to. In this way we save up to 90% on power consumption and thus CO2 emission. Secondly by nudging the users to store data in long-term storage. All files that have not been accessed the last 30 days appear on a list, and can be stored long term automatically with a few clicks. With the built-in Activity log we trace the activity and send a monthly report informing the users of their CO2 footprint, how much they have saved, and how to save even more.
