Bill Robbins runs the show at Convergent Management, Inc., through which he advises entrepreneurs and business owners and keeps a look-out for interesting opportunities. Bill provides the kind of unvarnished, experience-based input and feedback that entrepreneurs and business owners need, but that board members and early investors are often reluctant to provide, due to the unspoken limitations of professional discourse and political correctness. Bill has more than 35 years of experience in the corporate and start-up world (pharma, biotech, medical devices and technology) and in seed-stage venture investing. As founder and Managing Director of Convergent Ventures, LLC and Convergent Investors, LLC, Bill (and colleagues), created, funded and directly managed companies based on world-class science and technology from the California Institute of Technology, UCLA, USC and other major universities. Bill also has significant entrepreneurial and operational experience in the outdoor products industry, inspired by his personal interests in cycling and shooting. Bill is a published non-fiction author and editor, having written two business books based on his experience as a seed-stage investor, and edited numerous professional, academic, and special-interest books and journal articles in the sciences and other technical or scholarly subjects.
