Aretusa is a non-profit consortium among ASA - Company for Environmental Services of Livorno, Solvay Chimica Italia and Termomeccanica Ecologia. It was founded in 2001 to build a reclamation plant for Cecina and Rosignano wastewater. So far, the consortium has operated non-stop, producing over 3 million cubic meters of treated water per year. The latter has been delivered to Solvay for compatible industrial uses, meaning that over 50 Milm3 of ground water have been saved.
