Overview

In 1963, local voters decided they wanted their own independent recreation and park district, and CRPD was born. It all started with one park and one employee, and now, thanks to the help and support from involved residents, caring volunteers, property owners, partner organizations, employees and elected officials, we manage 60 parks and recreation facilities, and offer thousands of programs spanning a wide variety of interests. Our mission is simple: to enrich the quality of life for our community by preserving and enhancing recreational opportunities, parks, and open space. We put that mission into action every day through classes, camps, playgrounds, sports fields, community centers and more, creating safe places that people of all ages can enjoy, play and explore.
