Conductive Learning Center of North America

Individual and Family Services

Overview

The mission of Conductive Learning Center is to provide opportunities for children and young adults with motor challenges to achieve optimal physical, cognitive and social independence through the application and promotion of conductive education principles. Conductive education, developed in Hungary in 1945, is an intensive, multi-disciplinary approach to education, training, and development for children with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and other motor challenges. Conductive education methodology has a transformative effect on mobility and independence. Using a holistic and intensive approach that combines medical knowledge with educational methods, a child can gain control over his or her body – and accomplish tasks never thought possible. At the Conductive Learning Center, our goal for every student is that he or she becomes confident, active, and self-reliant. Our conductor teachers help children achieve a maximum level of independence so he or she has the ability to enter school, the community, and – ultimately the workforce.
