Overview

CompData was founded in 1987 and commenced operations as a lien recovery specialist representing various hospitals within the jurisdiction of the California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board. From 1993-1995, CompData engaged in a joint effort with the California Division of Workers' Compensation ("DWC") to create and implement the State's Electronic Data Exchange System ("EDEX"). The system went live in 1995 with CompData as the DWC's first EDEX Partner. Since then, over 2 million liens and other documents have been electronically filed with the DWC using CompData technologies. CompData's clients include a wide range of insurance companies, claims administrators, attorneys, government agencies, medical providers and their representatives. CompData maintains a strong, high-level relationship with the DWC as an advisor and valued participant in each of the division's external user technologies including EAMS Third Party Filing, EAMS Public Search, JET File and EDEX. In cooperation with the DWC and in the EDEX tradition, CompData has continued to be the leader and foremost innovator in the California workers' compensation information technology sector.
